About Elizabeth

I'm Elizabeth, a doctoral candidate in International Relations and a young tutor who combines a solid academic background with a friendly, clear, and straightforward teaching style. I'm 24 years old, which gives me a deep understanding of how students study today, what overwhelms them, how they explain things, and what kind of support truly helps them progress. I also work in university research, so I offer serious and structured guidance. My background is in economics, politics, development, and analytical methods, and I enjoy transforming seemingly dense topics into easily understandable ideas. I like my classes to be a relaxed space where students feel heard, respected, and supported at their own pace. I don't believe in mindless memorization; I believe in breaking down concepts, making them part of everyday life, and building confidence step by step. My approach is very personalized. First, I identify what the student needs: reinforcing foundational knowledge, gaining a deeper understanding of the syllabus, preparing for an exam, writing stronger essays, or simply organizing their study habits more effectively. From there, I adapt the explanations, pacing, and exercises. If an idea needs to be explained three different ways, I'll do it; there's no such thing as a "stupid question." I can teach in both Spanish and English, and I work with students in secondary school, high school, IB programs, and university. My goal is for every student to leave class with greater clarity, more confidence, and the feeling that they can handle the subject. I offer responsible and friendly support, striking the right balance between academic rigor and a youthful approach that fosters connection and understanding.

About my classes: I like my classes to feel like a safe space for learning without fear of making mistakes. I work closely with students, with a lot of patience, always adapting to their pace and personality. Each class is different because each student arrives with different concerns, learning styles, and ways of thinking. My job is to find the explanation that "clicks." As a doctoral candidate in International Relations with a background in economics, politics, and methodology, I have spent years transforming dense topics into clear and manageable ideas. I'm interested in students understanding, not just memorizing, and in them gaining confidence in their ability to solve problems, write better, and think more critically. My teaching style: I start by listening: what's difficult, what's overwhelming, what works well, and what doesn't. From there, I build a light and realistic plan. In class, I mix simple explanations, concrete examples, questions that encourage reflection, and short exercises that reinforce learning without overwhelming the students. I take the time to re-explain in different ways if necessary; there's no such thing as a "silly question." I always end the session with a mini-summary so students leave feeling organized and clear. If they wish, I can assign short, manageable tasks to allow them to progress gradually without pressure. What a class with me might be like: • We begin with a gentle review to get our bearings. • We delve into the day's topic with a clear explanation, avoiding unnecessary technical jargon. • We practice: we solve an exercise, analyze a text, review an outline, or work on an essay. • We finish with questions, advice, and a final summary that ties everything together. What characterizes me as a teacher: • I am warm, calm, and very patient. • I explain as many times as necessary, using different approaches. • I adapt to students who feel stuck or overwhelmed. • I provide tools for studying more effectively, writing with greater confidence, and organizing ideas. • I can teach fluently in Spanish or English. Who my classes are for: • Secondary school students who need extra help in Geography, History, Economics, or English. • High school students seeking to consolidate their knowledge of Economics, History, Philosophy, writing, or exam preparation. • IB students (Economics, Global Politics, Social and Economics, TOK, EE) who need ongoing support and clear explanations. • University students in the social sciences who want to better understand concepts and methods or improve their essays.
