About

Originally from Brazil, I bring a unique blend of practical experience and academic expertise to my tutoring. Before pursuing my PhD in Exercise and Nutrition Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), I worked as a Personal Trainer, specializing in Weight Training, Rehabilitation, and Prevention of skeletal muscle injuries. My hands-on experience working with various clients has given me deep insight into the practical applications of exercise science, especially for clinical populations.

During my academic journey, I’ve been actively involved in research groups, studying the benefits of exercise for clinical populations and contributing to advancements in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. My Master’s research focused on investigating upper limb function and strength asymmetries in young tennis players, which deepened my understanding of biomechanics and athletic performance. These experiences have shaped my broad expertise in exercise science, allowing me to offer students not only theoretical knowledge but also practical insights into how these concepts apply in real-world settings.

I am deeply passionate about exercise science and love helping students understand the intricacies of human movement, physiology, and rehabilitation. My lessons are not just about passing exams—they’re about building a lasting understanding of the subject, fostering critical thinking, and inspiring confidence in applying these principles. With my diverse experience and academic background, I am dedicated to providing engaging, personalised, and results-driven tutoring sessions.

About the lesson

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:

My teaching approach is highly personalised, focusing on each student’s unique learning style and academic goals.
I break down complex concepts into digestible pieces, using real-world examples and practical applications to make the material engaging and relevant.

I emphasise active learning, encouraging students to ask questions, solve problems, and apply their knowledge in practical scenarios.

I also incorporate visual aids, demonstrations, and interactive activities to reinforce key concepts. My goal is to not only help students master the subject but to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will benefit them long term.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Each tutoring session typically lasts 60 minutes. This time allows for a thorough exploration of topics, practice exercises, and Q&A, while maintaining student focus and engagement. For more in-depth topics, I offer extended sessions of 90 minutes.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:

I hold a PhD in Exercise and Nutrition Science from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with a background in Exercise Physiology, Thermal Physiology, and Neuromuscular Function.

I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring in areas such as Exercise Physiology, Human Anatomy, Exercise Testing and Prescription.

My academic and teaching experience enables me to explain complex subjects clearly and effectively.
