About Trevor
In my day job, I teach history at several universities in Edmonton, AB, Canada. My focus areas include US History; the History of Science, Technology and Medicine; World History; and Modern History (since 1400).
I finished my PhD in History in 2012 by examining American and Soviet propaganda about space exploration in the early Cold War.
Since 2008, I have helped thousands of students expand their knowledge of history and improve their writing, research, and critical thinking skills.
By night, I am a creative musician and composer, a voracious consumer of old music and films, and a passionate student of the world's languages and cultures. I am currently teaching myself Portuguese and Spanish!

- I teach students how to learn - sharpening their research, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Especially helpful for secondary students pursuing AP or IB Arts or Social Studies paths, post-secondary Arts students in writing-intensive programs, or any high-school or university student who wants to improve their writing.
- I am also a creative artist (music) and a historian of science and technology, so I can help all students develop their research, writing, and critical thinking skills!
