About Michael
I am a university lecturer and researcher with ten years of experience teaching Academic English at the University of Lille. I hold a PhD in Language Sciences and have worked extensively with students and researchers writing in English as an additional language. I understand the specific demands of academic writing at university level and am well placed to help students produce clear, well-structured work that meets those standards.

I offer one-to-one Academic English tuition for university students and PhD candidates in Dublin, either in person or online.
I spent ten years as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lille teaching English for Academic Purposes at postgraduate level, including dedicated seminars for PhD candidates. I have also proofread over 100 peer-reviewed articles in engineering and physics for publication.
I focus on academic writing, structuring arguments, referencing and the conventions of writing in English at university level. Sessions are tailored to the student's discipline and specific needs.
Lessons are suitable for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students who want to improve the clarity, accuracy and academic register of their written English.
