About Haider

I am a graduate of University of Sheffield, UK. I received my Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Additive Manufacturing. Got my Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia USA with a focus on Control Systems and Energy Systems. Got my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan. I wish to achieve and be a role model for my people who live in Shangla the most backward district of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Pakistan. Since a very young age (when I was studying for my O' Levels), I started teaching in my village schools during the summer vacation. Besides that I would help the village kids prepare for their exams and help them understand the basic concepts of science. I have travelled to USA and UK for my own education and this has given me a perspective of teaching methodologies in the best schools of three different countries. I am a self-motivated Engineering professional with a deep desire to help raise the level of understanding of every student I can reach. I can see and make things happen, with an ability to analyse information quickly, look outside existing boundaries to identify implications and linkages. I am able to multitask and prioritise in order to overcome challenges and propose creative solutions. I am both a team player and dynamic leader capable of direct and open communication, seeking diverse input and persuading team members by the vigour, sensitivity, and clarity of my arguments and actions.

About the lesson

My aim is to help students attain their goals effectively and efficiently through smart teaching practices. I believe, "Understanding beats Memory", and therefore I focus on the conceptual clarity of my students. I believe, "Understanding of the basics is the key to success", and therefore with my students I always stress on starting from the basics and progressing step by step. I believe, "Hard work beats Intelligence", and therefore my first lesson to students is always focused on the importance of hard work and practice. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Science subjects. In my experience helping struggling students understand the concepts of science and help them realise the link of science to everyday life, we always seem to have the most fun. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy sports as it teaches you how to lift yourself after losing and fight again to win.
