About Keziah

A UK native and long-term resident of the US with over ten years' international teaching experience, I recently completed a doctorate specialising in French and Francophone Studies and look forward to supporting students of all levels in their language study. After being trained to teach French to university level at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, I subsequently lectured at the Sorbonne (Université Paris III, Sorbonne Nouvelle and Université Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne) before undergoing doctoral research in Morocco. In addition to these experiences living and working in a French-speaking environment, I am able to draw on expertise on a variety of topics in French language, culture, literature and translation -- not to mention decades of personal experience as a dedicated language-learner myself! About the lesson

Coucou!

My lessons are typically taught in an immersive environment using a communicative approach, meaning that class will be conducted 100% in French from day one (don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds!) and everything you learn is designed to bring both function and meaning to your studies in French. Depending on your language needs and your learning style, we might use any combination of audiovisual materials and interactive media in addition to grammar and writing exercises, but one thing's for sure -- we'll talk a lot!

Having taught and tutored language learners from elementary school through to post-graduate level, I know the importance of catering each lesson to the needs and interests of my students. My academic background in French and Francophone Studies offers students unique insight into current topics the French-speaking world.

Whether you are just starting out in French, need help with your high-school or college studies, or wish to develop a more nuanced understanding of French literature and culture, I look forward to supporting you in your journey!
