About Te Manaaroha
I am passionate about te reo Māori and have many years teaching main stream and rumaki classes at secondary schools. I have also taught in tertiary institutions to students training to become teachers. Ko te reo Māori ko au, ko au ko te reo Māori. I truly believe 'one to one'/ 'face to face' teaching is effective. However, the bonding between myself and the student is also important to achieve outcomes. I am professional in my approach to teaching students and aim to meet the needs, interests and aspirations of the students. Working together to achieve outcomes is my words of wisdom.

My teaching methodology is guided by the New Zealand Te Reo Māori Curriculum and able to teach NCEA level 1/2/3. I encourage the use of te reo Māori at most times during tuition but will teach at the level of the student (beginner, some reo Māori and advance knowledge). The length of the lesson will depend on the needs and concentration span of the student, along with what needs to be completed work-wise (1 hour, 2 hour at the most). As mentioned before I have a PhD in Māori and Music, and a Teaching Diploma as a secondary school teacher. I am able to teach students from Primary, secondary and tertiary.
