About Paige

Hi, I’m a PhD researcher and lecturer in forensic psychology. I’ve taught psychology, criminology, and research methods at university level and really enjoy helping students build confidence in their studies. My specialist areas include factitious disorders, Munchausen by Proxy, healthcare serial killers, and qualitative research. I’ve also had the opportunity to work twice in the USA at the California State University Los Angeles Forensic Institute, which gave me valuable international experience in my field. I aim to make lessons supportive, engaging, and tailored to your needs—whether that’s exam prep, essay writing, or developing research projects.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach I tailor my tutoring to each student’s needs, whether that’s exam preparation, essay structuring, or developing a deeper understanding of specialist topics. My approach is student-centred and discussion-based, encouraging critical thinking and applying theory to real-world examples. I especially enjoy guiding students through qualitative research methods and helping them build confidence in designing and analysing research projects. Lesson Structure A typical session lasts up to one hour and is structured around the student’s goals. Lessons may include: Breaking down complex theories into clear, manageable concepts Case study discussions (e.g., factitious disorders, Munchausen by Proxy, healthcare serial killers) Support with assignments, literature reviews, or dissertations Skills coaching for research methods (with a focus on qualitative approaches) Qualifications & Experience PhD Researcher in Forensic Psychology (2022–present), Liverpool John Moores University Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), recognising my teaching in higher education (2022) BA (Hons) Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice – First Class (2019–2022), Liverpool John Moores University Level 3 Teaching and Supporting the Educational System – Distinction (2017–2019) University lecturing experience in Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Research Methods Research expertise in factitious disorders, Munchausen by Proxy, healthcare serial killers, and psychometric development (FDIS & FDIA measures) Who My Lessons Are For I work with: Undergraduate and postgraduate students in Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Criminology, and Research Methods Students preparing for dissertations or research projects Professionals or learners with a personal/research interest in forensic psychology and related fields
