About Coen
I hold a PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, an MBA and a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology. I am also a registered Psychological Counsellor in Namibia.
My teaching experience includes working at international schools in Egypt and Azerbaijan, where I taught Psychology. I have also taught at university level and worked as a university counsellor, helping students prepare for higher education.
My professional background combines psychology, education and psychological assessment. This has given me a particular interest in how people learn, how they perform under pressure and how to help them achieve their potential.
I enjoy teaching because I find it rewarding to help students develop confidence and achieve results they may not have thought possible.
My approach is practical and focused on results. I believe students benefit not only from understanding the subject matter, but also from learning how to apply their knowledge effectively in examinations. That is where I aim to make a difference.

My approach to tutoring is simple: knowing the subject is one thing, but knowing how to succeed in the exam is another.
I specialise in AP Psychology exam preparation, helping students turn their knowledge into marks. While your classroom teacher focuses on teaching the curriculum, my lessons focus on helping you demonstrate that knowledge effectively under examination conditions.
We will work through multiple-choice and free-response questions, develop effective answering techniques, identify common mistakes and practise applying psychological concepts in the way examiners expect.
Each lesson is tailored to your strengths and areas for improvement, with particular attention to time management, understanding question requirements and improving your exam performance.
My goal is not simply to help you understand Psychology better, but to help you achieve the best possible result in your AP Psychology examination.
