About Marjotte
*Please contact for full CV* I am a current PhD student, and having completed my master's degree at Oxford University and graduated from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, I offer tuition in History of Art, French, and other humanities subjects. Born in a French/English family, I am bilingual and particularly enjoy tutoring languages (over 5 years of experience). I also love transmitting my passion for art history through tutoring. I have a considerable amount of experience teaching in various museums and cultural institutions (The Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice, the Wallace Collection and the National Gallery in London), which has made me realise how much I enjoy engaging with varied audiences. I have experience teaching A level and IB students, undergraduate students, and also offer help with art historical research. I have helped a number of students prepare their undergraduate or postgraduate applications. I am currently an examiner for the Pearson History of Art A level paper. I have recently started an ESRC funded PhD in History with the Museums of Liverpool. I have won several art history awards throughout my studies, including the Courtauld Dean Prize for Best Overall Results, the John Hayes Travel Grant and the 2021 Sir Denis Mahon Essay Prize.

For any humanities tutoring session, I would start by assessing the overall level of my student and narrow down the areas that we should focus on in order to help the student achieve their desired results. I always contact my students prior to the lesson to know if they have something specific they want to focus on, and if not, I prepare a lesson plan that will best fit their needs. DBS checked.

Deadly! Marjotte is an excellent tutor and I have been lucky enough to have several lessons with her to improve my research in art history. Highly intelligent and able to move between topics with great ease, she adapts perfectly to the specific needs of the student. It is a true pleasure to work with her and I highly recommend her!
Deadly! I had a great experience working with Marjotte! Her methodology was clear, structured, and really supportive—they helped me break down complex artworks and theories in a way that made them much more approachable. Instead of just correcting my writing, they guided me through the analytical process, asked thoughtful questions, and showed me how to build stronger arguments!
Deadly! Kind, smart, clear. Very helpful

Deadly! I decided to take some art history lessons with Marjotte after having a few French lessons with her. I wanted to learn more about French nineteenth century art in order to help my current researh. It was really useful to use the linguistic skills I learnt with her by applying them to such a fascinating period in art history. I would recommend Marjotte 100%. She is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher, who prepares her lesson plans thoroughly so you make the most out of your session. The material she presents is varied and always fascinating. Eager to continue both my French and art history lessons with her!

Deadly! Marjotte is a truly brilliant art history tutor who is intelligent and supportive! I recommend her highly! To research on the artist movements in Jane Austen's time for my MA thesis, Marjotte greatly helps me with researching on the 18th century artist movements such as Neoclassicalism and Romanticism, introducing lots of beautiful, intriguing paintings, gardens, costumes, and architecture to me. Her lessons are always fun, supportive, helpful and, of course, wonderful! Anyway, Marjotte is a fantastic teacher and I cannot thank her enough!!!
