About Luke

Hello! I’m currently a PhD student at King’s College London, specialising in the fascinating intersection of nutrition and mental health. With a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology from Queen Mary University of London, my academic experience is rooted in both psychology and nutritional science.

I’ve co-authored systematic reviews, published peer-reviewed papers, and peer-reviewed papers for academic journals. My research has involved designing and running randomised controlled trials and longitudinal studies, focusing on a variety of research questions from the effects of air pollution on mental health and lung function to how nutrition can influence mental health outcomes such as depression and anxiety.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is centred around making complex concepts in psychology and nutrition easier to understand. I break down difficult topics into manageable sections, ensuring students can grasp both the theoretical and practical aspects. I encourage active discussion and critical thinking, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world situations, especially in research contexts.

I customise each lesson based on the student's needs, whether it's preparing for an exam, working on coursework, or understanding research methods. My methodology includes a blend of explanation, interactive exercises, and reviewing past materials to ensure a thorough understanding.

Lesson Structure:
Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, although I am flexible and can extend sessions based on the complexity of the topic or the student’s needs. During this time, I aim to maximise productivity by focusing on key learning objectives, tailored to individual goals.

Qualifications and Experience:
I am currently a PhD student at King’s College London, specialising in nutrition and mental health, and I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology from Queen Mary University of London. I have helped students from various levels, including secondary school pupils, university undergraduates, and those seeking to publish academic papers.

Who My Lessons Are For:
I offer lessons for students aged 16 and above, ranging from A-Level to postgraduate levels, as well as those preparing for exams, writing dissertations, or working on research projects. My expertise is particularly valuable for those interested in psychology, nutrition, mental health, and research methods.
