About Carien
I am a published and award-winning author and am currently finishing my PhD at the University of Sheffield. I have always loved teaching as there is great satisfaction in seeing students improve and find their own way in the content they are studying.

I approach teaching by first establishing the level of the student and then finding ways in which their skills can be improved. I teach in ways that challenge thinking, encouraging creativity in approaching various tasks and projects. I believe that students are as much responsible in directing the teaching as a tutor or teacher would be. That helps to improve engagement.
