About Filippo

I have recently graduated with an MA in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow and I am set to start a Masters of Science in Philosophy of Mind and Psychology in September.

My passion for all things philosophy began in high school, where I first came across some of the most important philosophical questions that interest me to this day. It is this deep passion together with my expertise in the subject, that makes me a good teacher.

Additional experience includes working as an editor for the Glasgow University Society Philosophy Magazine, volunteering as a judge at the 2022 Ethics Cup and partaking in a summer research project at the Advanced Research Centre.

I am a sociable and easy going person. In my lessons, I aim to create a relaxed teaching environment where both student and teacher are able to communicate without fear of judgment.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is tailored to the individual student.

Typically, I like to teach philosophy and ethics by first teasing out the specific questions at hand and why they are important and then focus on the analysis of specific philosophical writings that propose answers them. This style of teaching favours a deep understanding of philosophical issues which enhances many useful skills such as critical thinking and problem solving.

The length of each lesson is about 1h, but I am open to longer sessions when required. Lessons are tailored mainly for students at the high school level and up.
