About Calvin
This is my first time professionally tutoring although I have been a class assistant before during the entirety of Year 12. This involved me assisting a class of around twenty year seven students in Religious Study lessons by aiding each student individually per lesson. Beyond this, I also acted as a class assistant for year ten students doing GCSE English, although this time I mostly worked with groups of individuals who misunderstood what the essay questions required of them. I learnt to do this by taking a step by step method to essay structure and formalisation. Furthermore, I worked one on one with year sevens during reading lessons for those who were struggling with the aim of improving fluency.

Hi! I am currently a university student in my final year studying philosophy, politics and economics. I am happy to give lessons to anyone working at A-Levels and GCSEs. I will be taking a relaxed approach to learning, whereby I'll allow the student to progress as quickly or as slowly as necessary. We will begin by addressing any initial concerns the student has in regards to their academic progress, followed by covering content the student may have learnt in class and then expanding upon that through forming a plan for an essay in a step by step fashion with the aim to have it completed before the next lesson (if possible). I will then review the essay before the next lesson and then discuss it with the student when next we talk.
