About Barry

Hello and welcome to my page! I specialise in all aspects of music, music theory, piano, composition and production*.
*can teach using Sibelius, written notation and Logic Pro software.

I have been on this wonderful musical journey of mine since the age of 7 when I was offered a Chorister Scholarship at Blackburn Cathedral where I eventually became Head Chorister some years later. There's no denying that this opportunity taught me fundamental skills to not only succeed musically but also in life, travelling the world and exploring many cultures whilst being extremely dedicated and punctual to a somewhat hectic schedule throughout my adolescence. I also had the opportunity to take up a piano scholarship, working my way up through the grades until I eventually left for University in 2012.

I have studied at many prestigious institutes throughout my educational years. I studied at Runshaw College (2010-2012) and achieved an A grade in Music, B in Music Production and a Distinction+ in Music Performance before leaving to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Music (Production) at Leeds Conservatoire in 2015, specialising in composition and recording.

Since University, I've spent time travelling Australia and Europe whilst focusing on my own music career, both in film & television and as a solo artist. Through hard work and dedication, I've had my music placed on many different television networks around the world (BBC, Quest Red, and Discovery Channel to name a few). My compositions and solo music can be heard on many online streaming networks (Spotify/Apple Music) just by searching my name. In the 12 months I've been releasing music, I've accumulated over 15 million streams worldwide, signing 3 separate record deals in the process.

I am passionate to share my knowledge. Having been in this industry now for almost 20 years, I have personally made it my mission to expand my knowledge and explore many different musical avenues. I have a breadth of knowledge to share with students and believe that a lesson should not only be educational, but fun.
