About Leona
I have 11 years of experience teaching piano to learners of different ages, abilities, and musical interests. I hold a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, which strengthened both my technical command of the instrument and my understanding of effective teaching methods. This dual focus allows me to balance precision with encouragement in every lesson.
My teaching approach is thoughtful, structured, and deeply supportive. I believe students progress best when they understand the purpose behind each exercise and feel encouraged rather than rushed. I work closely with learners to develop healthy practice habits, realistic goals, and a confident mindset that supports long-term musical growth.
Beyond teaching, I remain actively involved in performance, accompaniment, and continued repertoire study. These experiences inform my lessons and keep them connected to real musical contexts. Teaching piano is meaningful to me because I see students grow into confident musicians who trust their abilities and enjoy sharing music with others.

My piano lessons are designed to build musical fluency through strong technical foundations and expressive understanding. I focus on finger independence, hand coordination, reading fluency, rhythmic accuracy, tone control, articulation, and dynamic balance. Lessons connect physical movement with sound awareness, helping students understand how technique shapes musical expression. I use repetition, guided listening, and thoughtful practice strategies to support consistent progress.
Lessons are carefully adapted to each student’s stage. Beginners focus on posture, basic finger patterns, rhythm awareness, and reading confidence. Intermediate students develop coordination between hands, expressive phrasing, smoother transitions, and stronger sight-reading. Advanced learners refine tonal control, stylistic interpretation, performance preparation, and ensemble skills. Lessons progress steadily without unnecessary pressure.
Piano study builds discipline, patience, and emotional awareness. As students gain fluency, they become more confident expressing themselves musically. My goal is to help learners develop a lifelong relationship with the piano rooted in confidence, curiosity, and enjoyment.
