About Kessley

I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Master of Music in Music Education, with 8 years of experience teaching students ranging from beginners to advanced performers. My approach combines careful attention to technique, musicality, and personal expression, ensuring each student develops a strong foundation while exploring their artistic voice. Lessons integrate structured practice, creative exercises, sight reading, ensemble playing, and performance preparation to create comprehensive musical growth.

I emphasize individualized instruction, guiding students with patience, clear explanations, and encouragement. Each student receives support tailored to their skill level and personal goals, whether learning basic fundamentals, preparing for exams, or developing performance confidence. I focus on building strong technical skills, expressive ability, and an enduring love of music.

Outside teaching, I continue to explore piano literature, improvisation techniques, and ensemble collaborations, bringing real-world insight into lessons. Witnessing students grow in confidence, artistry, and technical proficiency is deeply rewarding. My mission is to cultivate well-rounded pianists who combine skill with creativity, inspiring lifelong engagement with music.

About the lesson

Piano lessons flourish when students develop a balance of technical skill and expressive artistry. My sessions focus on finger independence, posture, sight reading, rhythm, dynamics, pedal technique, and musical interpretation. Each lesson blends structured exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and duet performance to create a well-rounded musical experience. I create a warm, supportive environment where students can explore sound, develop confidence, and enjoy every step of their musical journey.

Beginners focus on posture, hand positioning, simple scales, basic sight reading, and learning easy repertoire. Intermediate learners practice more complex scales, chord progressions, sight reading passages, phrasing, and interpretation. Advanced students refine technique, expression, repertoire performance, improvisation, ensemble skills, and stage confidence. Each session incorporates guidance, demonstrations, and interactive exercises to ensure steady, meaningful growth in both skill and musicality.

Piano study not only develops technical ability but also nurtures creativity, memory, discipline, and emotional expression. Students gain confidence performing solo or with others, improve focus, and develop an appreciation for diverse musical styles. My aim is to help learners become expressive, technically proficient pianists who enjoy exploring music deeply while building long-lasting skills and self-assurance.
