About Liz
Hello, I'm Liz, from Malaysia, currently a med student and scholar in Trinity College Dublin. I have been playing the piano for a decade and a half. Since then, I've performed in various recitals as solo/duet pianist, and I still serve regularly as a church pianist in my Dublin church. I had the privilege of a teacher who really instilled in me a lifelong love for music - and I hope to bring those same gifts to you :)
I have an ABRSM Grade 8 in piano practical, and I still continue to challenge myself with classical repertoires beyond the Grade 8 standard and practice regularly on Trinity's campus. However, I also play many songs just for the enjoyment of it - from anime and Studio Ghibli music, to OSTs from my favourite dramas, pop songs, Christmas carols, and funny everyday bits like the Super Mario / Minecraft / Warner Bros themes!
I have tutored in voluntary and paid roles, from peers my age to young children. I find it hugely rewarding to help my students find their "Eureka" moment. I am a firm believer that music is one of the best things ever created, and a whole new language on its own - and I hope to help you be able to experience the joy and freedom of learning how to wield it like what a pen is to language. I also enjoy playing the guitar and ukulele, and do a bit of singing/songwriting in my spare time.

Teaching method:
Face-to-face lessons are my main and preferred mode of teaching as I am better able to engage with my students, catch bad practicing habits early on, and address any questions that arise.
Location:
I teach door-to-door and can come to your home - where you / the student is most comfortable.
Who can join:
If you are a beginner or a new pianist, you are very welcome no matter what age you are! I will journey with you in helping you attain some degree of musical independence and achieve your musical goals.
Duration of classes:
This would depend on the level of the student, usually 45 minutes for beginners and moving up to 60 minutes as the student progresses. However, there are options for 30, 45, and 60 minutes that you can choose.

Note: Rates do not include transportation costs, which can range from €2 - €10 (depending on the location). Music theory workbooks + books of pieces (or recommendations) can be requested as well (cost to be borne by student).
