About Joy
I have 8 years of teaching experience and hold a PhD in Piano Performance Practice. Throughout my career, I have worked with learners of different ages and backgrounds, helping them build musical confidence and strong technical foundations. Teaching piano allows me to share my passion for music in a meaningful way.
My approach combines structured learning with creative exploration. I encourage students to understand music deeply while developing the practical skills needed for successful performance. Every learner receives personalized support that matches their goals and learning style.
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing students develop confidence in their abilities. I enjoy helping learners discover new strengths and achieve meaningful progress. My aim is to create an inspiring and supportive environment where musical growth can flourish.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build a strong musical foundation while enjoying the process of learning. We work on note recognition, finger independence, rhythm development, sight reading, dynamic control, articulation, and musical interpretation through engaging and structured activities. Every lesson encourages steady improvement and practical skill development.
I use rhythm drills, duet exercises, listening challenges, keyboard coordination tasks, and repertoire studies to make learning both productive and enjoyable. Students learn how to approach music with confidence while developing stronger technical and expressive abilities. Lessons are paced carefully to support consistent growth.
Whether students are preparing for performances, examinations, or personal musical goals, lessons are adapted to fit their needs. I provide supportive guidance, detailed feedback, and achievable milestones throughout the learning journey. My goal is to help every student become a confident and well-rounded pianist.
