About Theodor

First piano lessons at the age of 7.

Special interest in harmony and composition.

Studied jazz (majoring in piano) with the degree of “state-approved professional musician and instrumental teacher for jazz and popular music”.

Lecturer in piano, ear training, harmony and arrangement at renowned schools in the Rhine-Main area.

Active as a solo pianist and in small ensembles.

Thanks to my classical training and subsequent jazz studies, I am able to teach "both" sides.

About the lesson

For beginners, I offer the necessary basic knowledge: getting to know the keyboard, reading music, independence of the hands, playing legato, rhythm, dynamics, fingering, intervals and scales and much more

After a few appointments, we have selected a suitable textbook for you together, which we then use as a common thread (I use 5 textbooks, which are graded according to age groups). Gradually, your individual, personal goals can then flow into the lessons.

With the advanced students (or autodidacts) we have to see where we can build on the previous skills. Do you still have books you want to play pieces from or would you like to try something new? Do you want to improve your technique or are you interested in harmonic theory, for example?

We will discuss such questions in the first few hours and then use them to develop a lesson plan for the coming months.
