About Margot
Piano bench time remains the most honest place to measure actual growth after 13 years spent on concert stages and within quiet studio walls. My focus stays on posture and hand position, sight transposition, ear training, scales and arpeggios, jazz improvisation, classical repertoire, sight playing, dynamics and expression. These specific mechanics provide the architecture for real musical fluency. I find it truly rewarding to observe students gain genuine command over their instrument while refining their physical approach to the keys.

"Strong technique serves as the foundation for any performance, much like a builder ensures a structure is sound before adding decorative details. You will find my approach relies on my Master of Music in Music Performance from the Australian National Academy of Music to clarify complex movements into manageable tasks.
We emphasize posture and hand position for better control while integrating scales and arpeggios to build necessary dexterity. Sight transposition and ear training exercises sharpen your internal musical map during our time together. We explore jazz improvisation alongside classical repertoire to balance structured learning with creative freedom. Sight playing improves your ability to interpret new scores quickly and accurately.
