About Oluwatosin
For me, teaching piano is a shared journey—one that unfolds uniquely for every student. I approach each lesson as a partnership where technique, creativity, and confidence evolve together. At the core of my teaching is a commitment to strong technical foundation: we work on posture, finger strength, note reading, rhythm, and tone production using age- and level-appropriate methods.
But equally important is creating a space for musical exploration. I incorporate listening activities, improvisation prompts, and composition exercises into lessons to keep students engaged and to deepen their understanding of music as a living, breathing art form. My students explore a wide range of repertoire, including classical masterpieces, popular music, video game scores, and their own original works.
A moment I’ll never forget was working with a student who struggled with dyslexia—together, we found visual and auditory strategies that allowed her to read music more fluently and enjoy the learning process. Seeing her perform at her first recital with joy and pride was one of the most meaningful moments of my teaching career.
I work hard to create a safe and encouraging learning environment, where students feel respected, motivated, and free to express themselves. Whether they dream of performing on stage or simply want to enjoy music at home, I aim to equip them with the skills and confidence to make piano part of their lifelong journey.

My approach to piano teaching combines disciplined technical training with opportunities for creative exploration, designed to meet the unique needs and goals of each student. I emphasize foundational skills such as hand positioning, finger strength, rhythmic accuracy, and sight-reading while ensuring these are connected to music students love to play.
Theory and ear training are woven into lessons naturally, enhancing musical understanding and performance. Improvisation and composition are key tools I use to develop creativity and personal expression. I incorporate technology including recording devices, metronomes, and digital tools to keep lessons interactive and help students track progress objectively.
Creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere is vital, where students are empowered to take risks, learn from mistakes, and celebrate every success. Whether a student is preparing for exams, concerts, or playing for personal enjoyment, my goal is to inspire technical proficiency, artistic expression, and a lifelong passion for piano.
