About Michael
I am a writer with a B.A. in English from the University of Connecticut and a Master's in English Literature from Central Connecticut State University. I have been a compulsive reader and writer all my life and enjoy sharing my passions with others. It is my belief that the humanities are central to living life and how we connect and understand each other. Tutoring is a way to rediscover connections about ourselves and others from voices in the past.

My lessons are gears towards instilling critical thought into prospective students. As a tutor it is important that students gain a well-rounded understanding of what literature and creative writing can teach us about thinking for ourselves.
Each lesson plan has a central component question: What can this text/subject teach us about how to think critically?
I show how the humanities can make students more independent thinkers by connecting literature and writing to a wider understanding of our collective human nature.
Lessons are geared towards high school and college-level students with focuses on English literature, poetry, and creative writing.
