About Leigh

I am a writer, teacher, and learner. I hold an MFA from NYU in poetry, where I served as a fellow, and am almost done with my second graduate degree—an MPA from John Jay College with a specialization in criminal justice policy and administration. I scored a 333 out of 340 on the GRE, specifically 167 out of 170 on the literature section and 11.5 out of 12 on the writing section specifically. I am able to work with a range of students, from creative writing to personal essays to APA style theses. I am in the process of publishing two books—one is an anthology I edited, the other a poetry collection. I'm detail-oriented and also love to see the big picture. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

I have extensive experience teaching all ages, including at elementary school, children, high schoolers, college level, and non-credit adult community workshops.

Highlights include teaching, undergraduate, creative writing at NYU, and academic writing at the institute for justice and opportunity based at John Jay College.
