About Stephen
Professional and conscientious graduate, MA.Hons Political Philosophy (Distinction) & BA.Hons Politics (First Class Honours). Looking to support students at both A-Level and Undergraduate levels in politics and philosophy. I spent four years at Royal Holloway, University of London where I received the Principal Master's Scholarship for academic excellence. To date, I am a member of the KCL Medical Humanities reading group and have recently participated in the 'Live Like a Stoic' event. My personal research interests focus on political liberalism and its critiques, and theories of the self. I pride myself on being adaptable and honest with tutoring clients; working around your needs, I favour a reciprocal learning style and utilise Socratic dialogue techniques in engaging students.
Areas of Specialty:
- Contemporary & Anglo-American Political Theory
- Continental Philosophy

I foremost engage with a student's specific need and goals. What they are looking for and how we can work together to make that happen. I focus on a reciprocal learning style in which myself and the student propose and analyse question to fully explore the subject matter.
In my sessions I aim to provide:
Textual discussion and breakdowns of particularly complex texts and ideas.
Exam practice questions for students approaching exam season and exam mindset support.
Essay feedback and proofreading, where I sit down with the students work an provide feedback on content presentation, clarity and consistency of argument, structure, and grammar.
