My name is April, and I am passionate about empowering students to achieve their full potential through engaging and effective learning experiences. With a solid foundation in Political Science and a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of knowledge, I specialize in teaching Mathematics, Political Science, English, and Philosophy. As someone who understands the struggles of procrastination and lack of motivation, I pursue a personalized lesson plan for each individual based on their needs.
- teaching methodology and techniques vary from individual to individual; my teaching methods are differentiated, active, direct, and inquiry-based. for retaining knowledge, I find that a cycle of teach, discuss, test, and review is most effective.For specific skill development, a structured, adaptable lesson plan is formulated upon first meeting the student to cater to individual needs (after all, there is no one-fits-all lesson plan!). This may be teacher-centred, student-centred, or experimental-- it all depends on what is most effective for the student at hand.
-I not only have the skills to teach, but I moreover have the skills to motivate and support students throughout the learning process. I help them discover their capacity to learn by fostering a genuine relationship; the student ends up more eager to learn due to their trust in me as a mentor.
