About Bradley
I read at two prestigious universities in South Africa (B.A. English- Rhodes University; Post Graduate Certificate in Education- University of Stellenbosch). My areas of specialisation are English literature and grammar. I love to teach critical thinking skills, Shakespeare and creative writing. I have worked at a few different high schools and I have taught SAT, TOEFL and AP. My amiable and charismatic nature, coupled with a lot of patience and a sanguine temperament, make me a very effective teacher. To this I would add that I also have a great sense of humour.

I try to make my lessons engaging and relevant by relating the academic content of each particular lesson to issues, themes and subjects which interest the youth. I give these people a sense of agency and choice in their own education and the space in which to experiment with, express and discover their own unique voice and identity, while moving ever-closer to a mastery of the English language. I push my students because I care for them. Positive reinforcement, regular encouragement and a tendency to teach the meta-cognitive technique of switching back-and-forth between analytical thinking and the synthesis of ideas, help me to lead my students to greater academic achievements. I get them to look for nuances and shades of meaning- in my class they don't use a good word to describe something- they find the perfect word to describe it!

Lessons need to be cancelled 24 hrs in advance or I will still charge for the lesson(at 75% of the usual cost of that lesson). Reasonable distances from the centre of Aylesbury won't incur additional travel tariffs; however, longer commutes may add a very small fee.
