About Qiannan
This is my 2nd year in Glasgow for my postgraduate studying, I would like to know more about Scotland, Scottish English and have more communication with people here.
I was worked as a mandarin announcer for the radio station during undergraduate study in China. And I'm interested in broadcast and dubbing.
I'm a volunteer at the Confucius Institute in Glasgow which makes me first time tried to teach Chinese calligraphy in the lunar new year event. I was also worked as a volunteer in Glasgow Chinese School. Being together with children makes me feel happy and energised.
I like Anime, Comic, cooking and Hiking, and my MBTI is ENTP.

This lesson is suitable for beginner. Chinese class include listening, speaking, reading and writing skill training. Ancient Chinese and Chinese calligraphy also can be taught if the student like them.
The first several class is about Pinyin, which is the fastest way to starting speaking and creating conditioned reflex.
Then we are going to learn about the common radicals, which are the component of each character.
Both the two part above are actually boring and needs to remember lots of things. To increase the interest and fun for learning, Chinese dishes cooking method lesson can be add during that period if needed.
After the two part, hopefully we can understand the meaning and guess its pronounce of each character roughly through recognise its radical.
The next part is to read some story. I'll try my best to choose the stories relative fun and doesn't creates culture shock. The students' interests would be considered.
For writing, the aim is to provide a usable skill for chatting through text box online. Chinese academic report writing is not included in this lesson.
Although Chinese is easy, don't forget to practice it. Some stupid domestic dramas and shoddy YouTube videos might help :)
