Joe gave me informal tutoring sessions over a six-month period on political theory. I found his method of teaching to be very effective; he's patient and a good communicator. He guides you towards figuring out your own answer to a problem rather than prescribing. His lessons always seemed well thought out. He was supportive and always willing to answer emails in detail throughout the week, if I had any questions left over from our session.
