My name is Miss Curchin I am a year 2 teacher from Manchester. I have taught in all primary year groups being a supply but I am now a permanent year 2 teacher. When we have our lessons we may even have a special guest, my dog Arthur.

My Lessons are fun and engaging with the aim to encourage the joy of reading, improving fluency and understanding.
Lessons for phonics would start with speed sounds. Moving to reading clearly and fluently and finishing with a bit of comprehension.
Lessons for reading comprehension begins with reading with a focus on speed and fluency. Then a primary focus on the skills of Retrieval, Inference, vocabulary, prediction, explanation and summarising.
