About CHELSEY
I'm a New Zealander who has lived in the UK for 20 years. I live with my family in the glorious Norfolk countryside and have two decades of experience teaching all primary subjects across the UK, New Zealand and Europe.

I work with primary-aged children from Early Years through to Year 8 (ages 4 - 12yo), tailoring every lesson to the individual child's needs, learning style and interests. Whether a child needs support to catch up, wants to stretch ahead, or simply needs to rebuild their confidence, I design sessions that are engaging, purposeful and built around them.
My approach draws on over twenty years of teaching experience across a wide range of settings, from Head of Lower School at an independent school in London, to mainstream and specialist one-to-one alternative provision for children with complex needs. I hold UK Qualified Teacher Status, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Bachelor of Science in Psychology, which gives me an understanding of child development and how children learn at each stage. I use this foundation to plan lessons that are fun and engaging.
I specialise in literacy and numeracy at primary level, and have a particular passion for the early years and the foundational skills that set children up for life. I have many years working in mainstream classrooms, but also developing bespoke 1-to-1 learning as a private teacher and governess. I am also an experienced SEND practitioner, I am skilled at adapting my methods to suit neurodivergent learners and children who have found school challenging, using structured teaching approaches, visual supports and multi-sensory activities where appropriate.
Sessions typically run for 45 to 60 minutes, though I am happy to discuss shorter sessions for younger children. I work online, and I maintain regular, open communication with parents throughout, ensuring families feel informed and involved in their child's progress at every stage.
