About Goldie

I started tutoring Japanese when I was a senior in high school and tutored non-stop from January 2009 to late 2013, when I decided I needed to touch up my own Japanese language skills before progressing. After studying abroad again, I felt confident to continue teaching Japanese. I have been tutoring continuously since 2017.

I typically teach individuals but am comfortable teaching small groups too. Besides privately tutoring, I have teaching experience in daycares, elementary schools, and at the university level. I have also tutored English (as a Second/Foreign Language).

About the lesson

I try to focus my lessons around the student's interests, learning styles, and objectives. I typically use a textbook along with a ton of supplemental material that I create or adapt for the lessons. I try to teach some cultural or historical information in every (or every other) lesson as well as have listening, speaking, writing, and reading practice in each lesson.
