About Amber
I am a professional actor based in London. I trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. My experience and love for classic play texts and English literature is extensive. I have worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare's Globe and many other theatres both in the UK and internationally. I teach acting, Shakespeare and text work alongside my acting work, and I’m a member of the audition panel at Guildhall. I also write fiction and poetry. Shakespeare and English Lit Set Texts freaking you out? Taking LAMDA exams? Auditioning for Drama School? Friendly and down to earth tutor here to help! :) I believe the most important thing any student needs is confidence in themselves. We’ll explore ways of learning that work for you specifically. For every single student is wonderfully different, and I cater my classes to serve that. We’ll also chat lots about the book, play or text you are studying, as I believe it’s important to find what YOU feel and think about it. Your opinion is ALWAYS valid, interesting and important. For Drama School Audition Prep: we’ll work in detail on your chosen pieces. I focus on connection to text and finding YOU within it, then building on that. We’ll explore intention, as well as taking your focus off of yourself, and on to whoever your character is speaking to- one of the most freeing discoveries for an actor. We’ll also work on your ability to take direction.

My 15 year old was really struggling with Macbeth for his GCEs. He’d basically decided he just couldn’t understand any of it and it was a waste of time, until he had a lesson with Amber. He says she talked about it in normal language and made it fun. She even gave him revision tips about highlighting quotes and themes. He’s much less stressed about the whole thing now.
