About Sidar
Welcome I am Sidar, a professional English native teacher, with almost 4 years of experience in tutoring. I passed a language mentoring degree in teaching English Literature and Language at Reading University. I also hold NVQ Level 3 Light vehicle and S001-S003 SMRT engineering. I am a friendly and open-minded teacher who believes that it's always a good time to learn a new language! Having both taught in Turkiye and in England I have got a deep understanding of both cultures and educational systems, hence I adapt my teaching according to your needs and expectations. I teach all ages and levels from complete beginners to advanced learners I can prepare you with any English exams such as GCSE, A-level Dissertation as well as IB and Baccalaureate according to the English curriculum. I followed a PGCE course as well so I am up-to-date with the most recent exams specifications and requirements. I offer small groups up to 8 persons, one-to-one and in-house lessons, as well as, tailored English business courses and job interview preparations. Groups can be organised depending availability with a maximum of 8 people per group of level to ensure efficiency. Why do I offer groups? Because they are a great way to interact with other students, to build confidence, and to practise in a friendly still challenging environment and they are great to have fun! For the last 4 years, I have taught English to a wide range of students with a great variety of backgrounds. Having helped and trained many students I am convinced that my passion will benefit your learning. Some were German, American, Spanish, Turkish, Portuguese or Panamanian children for example; others were bilingual children willing to keep up with the mother tongue of the country they are not living in or English children and teenagers following English curriculum whilst abroad with their family. I have prepared native speakers teenagers to successfully pass their English Baccalaureate, teenagers to get A-Grades to their GCSE and A levels, and bilingual teenagers to get their GCSE and/or A-levels as independent candidates. I have taught adults from several nationalities and backgrounds such as students, lecturers from university, journalists, PhD students, nurses, artists, lawyers, therapists, film editors, engineers or business owners to learn English for personal or professional purposes, either as complete beginners or by adapting to their current level to take them to the next one. Whatever my students' background or expectations, I am always totally dedicated to my students' needs and I am proud to teach them in a way that their progress goes beyond their own expectations. I strongly believe in the importance of being taught by a native speaker who also is a qualified teacher when it comes to learning a foreign language. I have high expectations and I use my skills and enthusiasm to become a confident learner of English! MY APPROACH In my opinion, you are never too old, too rusty or too slow to learn! Languages can be taught in a fun and efficient way being based on real-life situations with a particular focus on communication skills. The aim is to improve your knowledge of the English language to be able to take part in conversation in English and to feel at ease with it whatever your level. YOUR LESSONS The lessons are based on your needs and are tailored especially for you. They cover all aspects of language, including colloquial idioms. I always make sure to structure the lessons around the 4 language skills: reading, speaking, writing and listening and I incorporate grammar points, speaking practice, exercises and games. The lessons are based on the Common European Framework of reference for languages (A1 to C2) to provide a guideline for your learning. For students with previous knowledge, lessons are built around your existing knowledge in order to take you to the next level. Whatever the level you start from, I will give you homework and lessons to learn and practise in between lessons to embed the contents from the previous one and to be ready for the next one. The learning material is provided and I am proud to provide each student with a specific follow-up which can be accessed in an online personal space. There are provided lessons, exercises or homework and extra resources for you to further your learning whilst not in the classroom! In order to achieve those goals, I use a well-structured scheme of work following a step-by-step way of learning the English language. Thanks to my studies and experience, I am able to explain the grammar and the nuances of the language in a way which is easily understandable whilst never giving up on quality. I give particular attention to accuracy and details and I always push my students to go an extra mile in their learning journey.

The first time I met Sidar was in Exeter library where I was struggling with my dissertation, even though we didn’t know eachother at the time he sat me down made me feel calm as he would explain that he was in the same situation. After this interaction we would meet up often and he would assist me on breaking down sections I didn’t understand and finally I smashed it and now I am a post grad at Exeter University.
