About Alex

- 10+ Years live gigging experience, from local haunts to the Usher Hall.
- BA (Hons) Pop Music from Edinburgh Napier University
- PVG Certified
I've been playing in Edinburgh's thriving live music scene for over 10 years, playing with wedding bands, gospel choirs, jazz ensembles, fusion trios, theatre pits, duos, and in the studio. Playing music is a real passion of mine and I am very happy to pass on what I've learned through real, lived music experience.

About the lesson

Learning bass/guitar as a hobby? Learning songs for your exams? Wanting to get on the stage? I can teach all ages and all levels of experience.

I can teach bass from beginner > advanced level, and guitar up to Grade 8. I can also teach electric/upright bass together for a focus on Theatre and Jazz music.
- National 5/Higher/Advanced Higher (inc. theory integration for exams)
- ABRSM/LCME
- College/University Entrance Exams
- Grades 1-8/Rockschool
I've got years and a wide variety of experience to help you become the kind of player you want to be. Funk, Jazz, Rock and Pop bass playing is my day job and speciality, and I have plenty of experience in Theatre, Prog and Metal music to share. If you're an advanced bassist, I'd be more than happy to dig into my specialities to share some knowledge.
