About Ceri

Hello! I'm Ceri, a professional brass musician and teacher from Wales, UK, with over 20 years of experience helping students discover the joy of brass instruments. I hold a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Salford and have been privileged to perform with the world-renowned Black Dyke Brass Band - one of the finest brass ensembles in history. Currently, I serve as conductor of Burry Port Town Band and have taught thousands of students throughout my career, from complete beginners to advanced players preparing for professional music careers. My teaching philosophy is simple: build strong foundations, make learning enjoyable, and adapt to each student's unique needs and goals. Whether you're picking up a brass instrument for the first time or working towards your Grade 8 ABRSM exam, I'll provide patient, expert guidance every step of the way. I'm passionate about making quality brass education accessible to students across India through online lessons. My students consistently achieve excellent results, with many earning distinctions in their exams. Beyond exam success, I love seeing students develop confidence, discover their musical voice, and experience the lifelong joy that music brings. About the lesson

My teaching methodology is built on establishing strong foundations from day one. With over 20 years of experience and having performed with the world-renowned Black Dyke Brass Band, I focus on correct breathing, embouchure, posture, and tone production - the fundamentals that prevent bad habits and accelerate your progress.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your individual needs, learning pace, and musical interests. Whether you're a complete beginner or preparing for Grade 8 ABRSM or Trinity exams, my approach combines solid technique with making music enjoyable.
Lessons typically run 30 minutes for younger beginners, 45 minutes for intermediate students, or 60 minutes for advanced players. Each session includes warm-ups, technical work, repertoire development, sight-reading, and theory - all delivered in a supportive, encouraging environment that builds confidence.
I teach trumpet, cornet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba to all ages from 6 years upwards. My students achieve excellent exam results, with many earning distinctions. Whether you're learning for fun, school music programs, or serious exam preparation, I'll help you reach your musical goals with patient, expert guidance.
