About Andrew
I am a professional Drummer and teacher based in South Dublin. I have been playing professionally for years having received my BA in Commercial Modern music in 2021. As a seasoned performer, I have had the privilege of playing gigs at prestigious venues across the country and abroad, from the National Concert Hall to Belfast City Hall and festivals including mainstage at Forbidden Fruit and Reading and Leeds Festival. In addition to live performances, I have made Television appearances on shows such as The Late Late Show. With a rich background in live performance I try bringing a wealth of real-world experience and artistry to my teaching. Students benefit from firsthand knowledge of the industry's demands.

I am a graduate from BIMM Dublin achieving a first-class honor in a BA in ‘Commercial Modern Music’. I also hold a grade 8 in Drum kit from the ‘Rockschool’ exam board and a grade 8 in percussion from A.B.R.S.M.
I have been a member of the musical department in Templeogue College since 2018 and joined Castle Park School, Dalkey in February 2021; Ireland’s only accredited member of the Independent School’s Association. I have also been teaching students privately since 2016. My time in Castle Park School has led to an implementation of ‘High Performance Learning’ into my teaching strategy. This is an innovative style of cognition-based education employed within the School. At the heart of this are Advanced Cognitive Performance characteristics, (ACPS) which I try to adhere to in my lesson plans.
I love meeting new students and seeing them progress on the drums regardless of ability. I have gathered a lot of experience teaching privately, and in both primary and secondary schools. This has given me the chance to nurture students of all ages and skill levels. Teaching from a young age has also given me suitable time to hone skills, which I continue to include in my teaching strategy. I am capable of navigating students through grade exams, and help prepare them for state examinations aswell.
