About Megan
I love composing and hearing new works by emerging composers! I want to help you expand your musical techniques, compositional voice and develop a confident and unique aesthetic. I work with Western staff notation, graphic scores, and text scores.
I have 10 years experience as a professional composer, working regularly with solo performers and ensembles, as well as for film and radio. My work has been performed across the UK, Europe and USA.
I have worked with young people of all ages and also have experience with:
- Children with SEN/D
- Disabled adults
- Neurodivergent young people
- Young people with refugee/asylum seeker status
- Accessible music technology

You can bring any stage of a composition to me to get feedback and gentle advice to develop your work. We will listen to other music and look at examples of scores that will teach you new ways of approaching your music.
A typical lesson is 45-50 minutes and you may be any age or experience level. Before starting, you will have the opportunity to talk about your learning style and any access requirements you might have.
I have experience teaching composition to undergraduate and postgraduate university students, including at Royal Academy of Music and University of the Arts.
