About Madeleine

I am a French teacher that has taught French for adults, along with Middle and High School. Before the pandemic I was in Lille, France gaining my C1 certification by the EU standards. I enjoy French literature and always happy to recommend a book!

About the lesson

By the time my students come to me they usually have an urgent French language problem in mind, like going over a complex text for an exam. I am happy to help the students with such needs. I invite the student to take a longer term approach in learning the grammar and feeling comfortable and confident in speaking. It takes practice! No doubt! But I am here to ensure the support and provide the information you need in explaining the complexity of French grammar so that you can proceed to speak fluently while having fun with the language!

Deadly! Madeleine is very patient and kind - very important qualities when trying to teach someone a new language. Learning French is a challenge for me, but Madeleine keeps it fun!

Deadly! I have been learning French with Madeline for almost a year now. I really enjoy that I get to practice speaking about myself in real life contexts.

She also encorporates story books for beginners which provides reading practice (and listening if you get the audio book as well). This allows for even more speaking practice as I give a summary of the story during our lessons.

Overall I enjoy our time together and feel I have made good progress in the language for someone who also works a full time job and only studies French as a hobby. Meeting with Madeline once a week really helps keep me pushing ahead in the language and not giving up!
