About Jake
I am a musician and teacher with experience in piano, flute, and music theory, having studied at both the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Royal Academy of Music. Alongside teaching, I have performed throughout Europe both as a soloist and as part of orchestras, giving me a broad range of professional musical experience that I bring into my lessons.
My teaching approach is supportive, personalised, and focused on helping students build confidence as well as strong musical foundations. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities, whether they are complete beginners or more advanced musicians looking to refine their skills.
I specialise in music theory, flute, and piano, and I aim to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s individual goals and interests.

My flute lessons are tailored to each student’s individual goals, experience level, and musical interests. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to improve existing skills, lessons are designed to help you build confidence, strong technique, and musical expression in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Lessons may include tone development, breathing technique, posture, rhythm, music reading, ear training, and learning pieces in styles you enjoy. I combine clear technical guidance with a relaxed and encouraging teaching style, helping students progress steadily while enjoying the learning process.
I adapt lessons to suit different ages, learning styles, and goals, whether you are learning for fun, personal development, school exams, or performance preparation. Students also receive practical practice guidance and achievable goals to support improvement between lessons.
Above all, I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing creativity, and building a lasting enjoyment of music through personalised one-to-one flute tuition.
