About Arran
I am a songwriter and composer with a background in theatre making. I have been teaching guitar, ukulele and singing for over 15 years and have helped hundreds of students achieve their potential. I teach one to one guitar and ukulele lessons and individual and group singing lessons. I trained as an Actor-Musician at Rose Bruford College and spent many years performing and touring nationally and internationally. I have been a visiting songwriting teacher at Trinity Laban, UCL and dBs Music and I currently compose for theatre and television and play in three bands. My music has been used on the BBC, several adverts and over 20 theatre productions and I am the peripatetic guitar teacher at several schools in Bristol. I am good with children and adults and I hold a current DBS certificate.

I tailor my lessons for individual students, identifying their interests, styles and goals. As a teacher I am fun and patient and can adapt my style to suit a range of abilities from absolute beginners to advanced students. I place a lot of emphasis on tone and expression and developing good technique on your instrument or voice. Many of my students have gone on to higher music education or into the music industry and several have won scholarships in music.
