About Ed

I am a professional singer with a love for teaching. Over the past decade I have acquired a plethora of skills and knowledge, studying under some of the best singing teachers in the country, teaching music to children in schools, and offering private lessons to young singers.
I pride myself on clarity, musicality, and proven exercises which strengthen the voice and improve resonance, tone, flexibility, and expression.
I utilise traditional bel canto exercises, accent method, and focussed appoggio and breathing exercises to develop the vocal technique.
I centralise the discussion of text, poetry, and meaning to deepen one's approach to music and interpretation, and create an overall performance which is highly emotive and convincing.

About the lesson

My teaching focuses on the entire singing body, ensuring that the voice is functioning freely and healthily to produce your best sound. I will give you exercises tailored to your voice and needs, explaining their purpose and the physiological working of the voice. We will also work songs and repertoire that you love, and some intended to help build your voice, focusing on technique, musicality and meaning, to develop you both as a singer and as an artist.
I have prior experience as a singing teacher, piano teacher and class music teacher, and have been studying singing for the past decade.
A typical lesson lasts around an hour.
I teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced singers of all ages.
