I teach most styles of guitar from beginner to advanced for all ages. If you are looking to learn solo style, to accompany voice or perhaps play in a band then I can guide you. I also teach other stringed instruments such as bass guitar, mandolin and ukulele. I have over 20 years teaching experience (over 45 years as a performer). I have a flexible approach to my students and tailor lessons to suit the individual. A typical lesson is 50 minutes but can be flexible. For those interested in exams, I have a 100% pass rate and the average score is 85% (a Distinction). I have taught members of many bands including 3 members of Deaf Havana whose last three studio albums all reached the top 10 in the UK album charts. Members of other bands I have helped along the way are numerous and include The Berries, Flintmore, Harry Seaton, Jake Morrell and many others. I have been employed by Children’s Services as a Specialist Music Worker and have run Music Workshops for the Youth Service where about 60 young people would attend each week. I have also run Summer Camp Music Workshops for Kingswood over several years at several locations in the UK. I have been responsible for setting up and organising a commercial teaching studio. After two and half years the school was accommodating over 300 students and 20 tutors. I am qualified Grade 8 in Classical Guitar (ABRSM) - Grade 5 Music Theory (ABRSM) also hold an HND in Business Studies. - I am also a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors. DBS/CRB Checked

Brilliant guitar player and guitar tutor very patient with students who has Autism/learning disability’s.
So if you’re looking to learn to play guitar why not give Andrew a call/messageAndy is an excellent tutor, he’s extremely knowledgable and makes his lessons fun. I’ve known him for years watching him in his band and also having lessons. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Andy’s passion for music radiates into his teaching. He taught me (bass and my brother guitar) for many years (from age 10) and was always enthusiastic, patient and calm.
Andy’s passion for music taught me to love and respect music of all genres which I am very grateful for.
I am still playingAmazing, patient teacher. Learned loads and helped me make progress. I would definetly recommend.
Andy taught me and my sister guitar and bass for a few years. He got me to my grade 8 and always encouraged me to perform through his positive tutoring and mentoring.
Andy is a fantastic tutor. He is an experience musician himself in many styles and he is patient which helps build confidence and ability in his students. I 100% recommend Andy. I can’t thank him enough for the many lessons we had.
I was a student of Andy’s for many years. The right teacher is the difference between a life of music and losing interest in a few months. Andy is that right teacher. He’s patient, friendly and knowledgeable. Perhaps my favourite quality of Andy’s, however, is that he does not teach you on an agenda. He learns what you respond to the best and teaches you in that manner. He always taught me the songs I wanted to learn, yet never skipped the fundamentals. I’ll always be grateful for all the lessons and would highly recommend Andy to anyone.
Andy taught me from the age of 7 up until adulthood, taking me from novice to Grade 8 guitarist, only ending tutelage to move to University and study a music degree.
A friendly and patient teacher, and a talented and experienced musician, Andy differentiated his lessons to match my age and ability. He broke down a range of musical concepts into understandable terms, and successfully taught me various styles from classical to rock, depending on my changing interests.
Throughout our lessons, he always went the extra mile, asking me what my aims were and helping me to take the steps to achieve them, such as by introducing me to other musicians and helping me to prepare for my university entry auditions.
Highly recommended.I first me Andrew and a open mic session in a local pub and was immediately impressed with his skills and ability. Andrew is an excellent guitar Tutor/Teacher. He has taught me music theory with practical application over many musical styles and genera. From learning notes to playing chords and playing songs, he even encouraged my singing along the way. I would recommend Andrew as a Tutor to player who wish to learn from scratch to those who want to polish or improve their playing or understanding of music theory. His patience and ability to explain difficult issues when teaching are a credit to him.
Andrew is a fantastic teacher. He is an amazing guitar player and extremely knowledgable in music theory. I am a mature student, and I have found him to be very patient, supportive and gives praise when playing well and when things not going so well, he offers helpful tips and advice. He is passionate about all things musical.
I’ve known Andy for the best part of 25 years. Our relationship began when I became a novice guitar student under his tuition. Andy is an excellent teacher and makes learning simple and fun. If you get stuck on any particular element Andy will patiently show you the way. I think the max star rating on this site is 5 - I give Andy 10.
Long time former student of Andy’s - he always went the extra mile to provide great in-depth music theory and performance knowledge whilst making it easy to understand and engage with
I have gone on to enjoy many years of confidently playing the guitar & bass guitar in multiple projects as a result of my learning and can easily say a lot of that confidence is owed to Andy and his fantastic teachingKnowledgable and patient, Andy has been the catalyst for my guitar playing development without a shadow of a doubt. That development has ranged from electric guitar to acoustic finger style, resonator to classical Spanish guitar and continues.
