About Sander
I work as a software architect, both writing code and managing a team of software developers. I started as a self-taught programmer, then got an undergraduate and graduate degree in Computer Science. I have worked with various programming languages and in various domains. I have also taught many other developers in various topics. I am always excited to help new students acquire or grow their technical skills!

I always cater my approach to the student. However, I am a big believer in learning by doing. So often, I will work with my students to come up with something they want to build and then guide them in actually building it, teaching core concepts and best practices along the way. Sometimes this is done through one or two large projects, and other times it is through a series of quick, small projects or challenges.
In addition, I try to get a sense of what my students are passionate about. There are many aspects of programming, and while I will certainly help you learn what you came to learn, I also want to help you find a path forward that is fulfilling to you. Whether it is creating awesome apps or websites, tackling complex engineering problems, analyzing large datasets, designing software systems, or implementing next generation AI, I want to help you discover and pursue whatever you find most interesting.

Deadly! I would highly recommend Sander. I appreciate his depth of technical knowledge. He can explain the logic for all parts of the problems we go over. He's been patient and responsive, giving me time to figure out the solution and providing guidance when needed. He has a calm demeanor when tutoring.
