Deadly! I am a native English speaker who wanted to learn some polite conversational Tamil for a wedding in Chennai India. I had only 3 months to learn. I had had no experience with a non Romance language and no idea how difficult I would find a Dravidian language to be to learn. Also, I am older and not studied a language since college. My memory is not what it once was. I started with books, but all emphasized learning the Tamil script which was not feasible in 3 months. I then started using an online language speaking program which was helpful for teaching words and allowed me to hear pronunciation, but not receive feedback on my pronunciation. Also there was no explanation for why certain wordings were used. I then turned to super prof to find a tutor from Chennai. One positive of this choice is that my tutor knows how the language is spoken locally. She is able to explain the difference between written and spoken Tamil. That has been very helpful. "That is written Tamil. No one would ever say that". She has been patient with my continued difficulty with verb tenses and confusion over when to use which pronoun version. Mrs Chamundeswari is friendly, understanding of my age related slow memory. My lessons are fun. The only challenges have been coordinating differing time zones and the quality of the audio on WhatsApp- a lot of 'thirumba sollunga, please repeat.' I am pleased to recommend Mrs Chamundeswari

Deadly! Ma'am is a dedicated teacher with a keen understanding of her student's strengths and challenges. We found her teaching of tamil foundation very good as she really knows how to engage the student with interesting material and pays close attention to their learning needs. Highly recommend.
