About Damon
I am currently studying for a BSc in Psychology alongside counselling training, with a strong interest in how psychological theory applies to real life. Alongside my studies I have experience working in mental health services and contributing to psychology research, which has helped me develop a practical and grounded understanding of the subject.
I particularly enjoy helping students build confidence in psychology, especially when they find the subject overwhelming or struggle with understanding key theories or structuring written work. My counselling training has also helped me develop strong listening and communication skills, which I bring into my teaching style to create a calm and supportive learning environment.
I am patient, organised and supportive in my approach, and I aim to help students develop understanding at their own pace. I can also support students with developing effective study habits, understanding research methods, and building confidence with academic writing.
I am particularly interested in helping students see how psychology connects to real careers and real-world practice. For students considering psychology or mental health careers, I am also happy to explain common study routes, training pathways, and how people typically begin building experience in the field.

I take a structured and supportive approach to psychology tutoring, focusing on helping students understand key concepts rather than just memorising content. I adapt sessions to each student’s needs, whether that is improving essay writing, understanding complex topics, preparing for exams, or developing effective revision strategies.
Alongside my psychology degree, I am completing counselling training and have experience working in mental health services and contributing to psychology research projects. This allows me to explain psychological theories in a practical, realistic way, helping students understand how ideas apply beyond the textbook.
I can also support students with study skills such as understanding research methods, essay writing, developing critical thinking, and managing academic workload. For students interested in psychology or mental health careers, I am also happy to explain common study routes, training pathways, and how people typically build experience in the field.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes online and are suitable for GCSE and A-level students, as well as anyone considering studying psychology at university. My aim is to build both confidence and understanding in a calm, structured and encouraging learning environment.
