About Mariam
My name is Mariam and I have a genuine passion for helping SEN learners reach their potential. I started working with special educational needs within a young offenders institution, where I worked with a big variety of different needs and, as you can imagine, challenging behaviour.
I’ve also spent time working in special needs schools and alternate provisions, helping learners catch up with any gaps in their education as well as building their confidence in their academics and personal development.
I have a young child who also has additional needs so I understand how challenging it can be both from a parents perspective as well as in my profesional career.

Interactive lessons focused on using topics of interest specific to each learner to help keep them engaged.
4+ years experience working with SEN learners who may not have been able to access mainstream schools or have been disengaged for long periods of time.
Experience gained through SEN/SEMH teaching assistant roles and 1:1 tutoring of learners referred by the local authority.
Qualification in Hidden Difficulties awarded by The British Dyslexia Association.
Enhanced and clear DBS on on the update service.
