About Ciara
Hi, I’m Ciara — a Psychology graduate and current Master’s student in Positive and Coaching Psychology at University College Cork.
I am passionate about helping students feel more confident, capable and supported in their education. I understand that academic challenges are often about more than just understanding content — confidence, motivation, organization and feeling overwhelmed can all play a role.
My background includes tutoring students from diverse educational settings through Cork Life Centre, peer support work with university students, and mentoring roles focused on helping young people reach their potential. These experiences have strengthened my ability to build positive relationships, adapt to different learning styles and provide patient, encouraging support.
I aim to create a calm, supportive and non-judgmental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence and progressing at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but to help them feel more confident and less stressed in their learning journey.

My tutoring approach is supportive, personalized and student-centered. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual’s needs, learning style and goals. I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging and non-judgmental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence and progressing at their own pace.
I support students not only with academic content, but also with study skills, motivation, organization and reducing feelings of overwhelm that can often come with school or university. I believe confidence and understanding go hand in hand, and I work collaboratively with students to help them feel more capable and less stressed in their learning.
Depending on the student’s needs, sessions may include:
• Breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps
• Essay planning and writing support
• Revision techniques and study planning
• Referencing and academic writing guidance (including Zotero support)
• Building confidence, motivation and organization skills
Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes long and delivered online in a flexible and supportive format.
I am a Psychology graduate currently completing a Master’s in Positive and Coaching Psychology at University College Cork. I also have tutoring experience through Cork Life Centre, where I supported students from diverse educational backgrounds, as well as peer support and mentoring experience with university students.
Lessons are suitable for both secondary school students (Junior & Leaving Certificate) and university/college students seeking support with Psychology, essay writing, study skills, academic confidence and organization.
