About Kirthini
I am a qualified Psychology graduate and Counselor with a completed Master of Counseling from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences majoring in Psychology. I bring a strong academic foundation alongside practical experience supporting students to understand complex psychological concepts, develop effective study strategies, and build confidence in their learning.
My background in counseling allows me to teach in a calm, structured, and supportive way. I understand that many students experience stress or self-doubt around assessments, exams, and academic performance, and I work to create a professional yet approachable learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging deeply with the material.
I have experience tutoring VCE students, with particular strengths in explaining theory clearly, guiding essay structure, and helping students apply psychological concepts to exam questions and real-world examples. I use a step-by-step teaching methodology that begins with identifying gaps in understanding, followed by clear explanations using real-world examples to make complex theories easier to grasp. I place strong emphasis on applying theory to exam questions, structuring high-scoring responses, and building the skills required to analyse research, case studies, and data.
