Psychology student gives psychology, ancient history, and literacy and basic skills classes
About the lesson
I typically approach tutoring by helping individuals with concepts they have come across in class and perhaps need more understanding. I am able to provide extra resources, clarification, and assistance in homework as needed, as well as offer study tips. I am also open to collaborating with students in order to find the most suitable way of learning for their individual needs.

I am an Honours Psychology student with a minor in Classical Studies. My academic experience has provided me with a general background in psychology, including topics such as statistics, learning and conditioning, social motivation, psychopathology, research methodology and report/theses writing. As well, I am working towards a minor in Greek and Roman studies, thus I have broad knowledge on topics such as Ancient Greece, Greek Mythology, and early Celtic history.
In my professional life, I have spent two summers employed as an Adult Learning Instructor. During my time in this position, I provided one on one and small group teaching to adults looking to upgrade their literacy and basic skills. These skills include basics in: reading, writing, mathematics, computer use, document use, oral communication, thinking, and continuous learning. It is through this experience that I am confident in helping any individual review or improve basic skills such as fractions, long division, multiplication, working with ratios and percentages, constructing thesis statements, writing research reports, and using computer applications such as research databases, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Google Apps.
